1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using NaijaHub (naijahub.com.ng) and its subdomains including techstatus.naijahub.com.ng, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please discontinue use of the platform immediately.
2. Nature of the Service
NaijaHub is a free public information dashboard that aggregates data from various third-party sources for the convenience of users. NaijaHub operates as an information intermediary and does not:
- Generate, create or originate any financial data
- Provide financial advice, investment recommendations or foreign exchange dealing services
- Hold any licence from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), or any other regulatory authority to provide financial services
- Guarantee the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of any data displayed
3. Financial Data Disclaimer
- Exchange Rates: Rates displayed are sourced from ExchangeRate-API and reflect the official CBN interbank rates. These are indicative rates only. The actual rate you receive from any bank, bureau de change, or money transfer operator may differ. Always verify with the CBN official website (cbn.gov.ng) or your bank before transacting.
- Money Transfer Rates: Rates shown for LemFi, Grey, Wise, Remitly, WorldRemit, Western Union, MoneyGram and Chipper Cash are estimates calculated from the CBN rate minus each provider's typical spread. Actual rates change in real-time. Always check the provider's official app before sending money.
- Fuel Prices: Fuel prices are manually updated and sourced from NNPCL published prices and market reports. Actual prices vary by state, location and station. Verify with NNPCL (nnpcgroup.com) for official prices.
- Stock Prices: NGX stock prices shown are indicative only and may be delayed or inaccurate. Do not make investment decisions based on this data. Use the official NGX portal (ngxgroup.com) for real-time data.
- Commodity Prices: Agricultural and commodity prices are estimates based on AFEX and NAERLS published market reports. Actual trading prices vary. Verify with AFEX Nigeria (afexnigeria.com) or NCX (ncx.ng) before trading.
4. No Financial Advice
Nothing on NaijaHub constitutes financial advice, investment advice, trading advice, or any other sort of advice. NaijaHub recommends that you consult with a qualified financial professional before making any financial decisions. NaijaHub shall not be liable for any financial loss, damage or harm arising from reliance on information displayed on this platform.
5. Data Sources & Accuracy
NaijaHub sources data from the following third parties:
- Exchange rates: ExchangeRate-API (reflecting CBN official rates)
- Weather: Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com)
- Football: football-data.org
- News: RSS feeds from Punch, Vanguard, Channels TV, TechCabal, BusinessDay, Guardian Nigeria and others
- Jobs: RemoteOK API
- Location data: OpenStreetMap Overpass API
- Tech status: GitHub, Vercel and Cloudflare official status APIs; community reports for other services
NaijaHub does not guarantee the accuracy of third-party data and is not responsible for errors, omissions or delays in third-party data.
6. Tech Status Hub
The NaijaHub Tech Status Hub (techstatus.naijahub.com.ng) displays service status information sourced from official status APIs where available and community reports otherwise. Status information is indicative only. NaijaHub makes no warranty that status information is accurate or current. Do not rely on NaijaHub Tech Status for critical business or operational decisions — always check the official status page of the relevant service provider.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law and applicable international law, NaijaHub, its operators, and its data providers shall not be liable for:
- Any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from use of the platform
- Financial loss resulting from reliance on exchange rates, stock prices, commodity prices, fuel prices or money transfer rates displayed on the platform
- Loss arising from inaccurate, delayed or unavailable data
- Decisions made based on news, information or data displayed on the platform
8. Intellectual Property
The NaijaHub name, logo, and original content are the property of NaijaHub. Third-party news content, data and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners. NaijaHub displays third-party content under fair use for informational aggregation purposes only.
9. Compliance with Nigerian Law
NaijaHub operates in compliance with:
- Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA)
- Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention etc.) Act 2015 (as amended)
- Consumer Protection Council Act
- All applicable CBN regulations regarding information dissemination
NaijaHub does not publish parallel market or black market exchange rates. All rates displayed are official interbank rates sourced from regulated data providers.
10. User Conduct
Users of NaijaHub agree not to:
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to scrape, copy or redistribute data from the platform commercially
- Submit false or misleading reports via the power outage or tech status reporting features
- Attempt to reverse engineer, hack or otherwise compromise the platform
10a. Email Newsletter — NaijaHub Weekly
NaijaHub offers a free weekly email newsletter called NaijaHub Weekly. By subscribing you agree to the following:
- Consent: Subscription is entirely voluntary. By entering your email and clicking "Subscribe Free" you give explicit consent to receive the weekly briefing email
- Content: The newsletter contains Nigerian exchange rates, fuel prices, and top news headlines. NaijaHub reserves the right to update the content format at any time
- Frequency: Approximately once per week. NaijaHub reserves the right to send additional emails in exceptional circumstances (e.g. major breaking Nigerian news or platform updates)
- Unsubscribe: You may unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email. Unsubscription will be processed within 48 hours
- No sharing: Your email address will never be sold, rented, or shared with any third party for advertising or marketing purposes
- Service provider: Emails are sent via Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.). By subscribing, you also agree to Mailchimp's Terms of Use
- Disclaimer: Financial data contained in newsletter emails is indicative only, subject to the same disclaimers as the NaijaHub website. Do not make financial decisions based solely on newsletter content
11. Changes to Terms
NaijaHub reserves the right to update these Terms of Use at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Nigerian courts.
