How NaijaHub collects, uses and protects your information

1. Who We Are
NaijaHub (accessible at naijahub.com.ng) is a Nigerian daily dashboard providing forex rates, news, weather, and utility tools for Nigerians. NaijaHub is operated by Truxper (truxper.com).

2. What Data We Collect
NaijaHub is designed to be privacy-friendly. We collect minimal data:
- Usage data: Pages visited, features used, time spent (via Google Analytics — anonymous)
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type (standard web server logs)
- Location (approximate): Used only to show relevant weather and prayer times — never stored
- Queries you type: If you use the "Ask NaijaHub" AI chat, your questions are sent to Anthropic's API to generate answers. We do not store these conversations.
- Email address: If you voluntarily subscribe to the NaijaHub Weekly email briefing, we collect your email address for the sole purpose of sending you the weekly newsletter. See Section 2a below.
✅ We do not collect: Your name, phone number, or any personally identifiable information unless you contact us directly or subscribe to our newsletter.
2a. Email Newsletter Subscription
NaijaHub offers a free weekly email briefing called NaijaHub Weekly. If you choose to subscribe:
- What we collect: Your email address only
- Why we collect it: To send you the weekly NaijaHub briefing containing Nigerian exchange rates, fuel prices, and top news headlines
- How it is stored: Your email address is stored securely via our email service provider (Mailchimp). It is never stored on NaijaHub's own servers.
- Frequency: One email per week, typically sent on Monday mornings
- How to unsubscribe: Every email contains a clearly visible unsubscribe link at the bottom. You can opt out at any time with one click.
- Sharing: We will never sell, rent, or share your email address with any third party for marketing or advertising purposes
✅ Your consent: Subscribing to NaijaHub Weekly is entirely voluntary. By entering your email address and clicking "Subscribe Free", you give your explicit consent to receive the weekly email briefing. You may withdraw this consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email.
This data collection and processing is carried out in compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and applicable international data protection standards.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and improve NaijaHub's features
- To understand how users interact with the site (anonymous analytics)
- To ensure the site works correctly on your device
- To respond to any enquiries you send us

4. Third-Party Services
NaijaHub uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.) — Used to store email addresses and send the NaijaHub Weekly newsletter. Only your email address is shared. Mailchimp Privacy Policy

- Open-Meteo — Provides weather data. No personal data shared. Open-Meteo Terms
- AlAdhan API — Provides prayer times. No personal data shared.
- Vercel — Hosts NaijaHub. Processes standard server logs. Vercel Privacy Policy
- Google Fonts — Loads fonts. Google may log font requests. Google Privacy Policy
5. Cookies
NaijaHub uses minimal cookies:
- Session storage: Temporary data to remember your preferences during your visit (e.g. selected currency). This is cleared when you close your browser.
- Analytics cookies: Anonymous usage tracking via Vercel Analytics. No personal data is stored.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
6. Your Rights Under Nigerian Law (NDPA 2023)
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you have the right to:

7. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your data:
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS (encrypted)
- API keys are stored securely in server environment variables — never exposed in code
- We do not store sensitive personal data on our servers
- In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users and the NDPC within 72 hours as required by law
8. Children's Privacy
NaijaHub is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Disclaimer
